Sensory Bottles

Sensory bottles are a really cool way to get in sensory play with your little ones. These 2 colored ones are awesome for color identifying practice, too!

Materials:

  • Bottles – mini travel bottles from Boots are a great size for babies
  • Baby Oil
  • Water
  • Food coloring or liquid water colors
  • Wilton’s Candy Melt Food Coloring
  • Funnel

Start by filling half of the bottle up with water and add a few drops of either food colouring or liquid watercolours. Give it a good swish to spread the colour throughout the water.

In a separate bowl add your oil and the Wilton’s candy melt food coloring. Now this part is very important. You need to make sure that this food coloring is oil based or it wont color the oil.

Place the funnel into your bottle and pour your oil in. You may need to top up the oil if you haven’t got enough in there.

Then put the lid back on and securely tighten it. You can glue the lids into place to make sure there are no accidental spillages.

This sensory bottles will last a while, but they oil color will eventually begin to merge with the water.
